Series Breakdown: 6/3-6/5 Padres Vs Dodgers

Dodgers win series in the 13th inning by a Home Run by James Loney

Series: Fri: 6-3 Dodgers, Sat: 7-4 Padres, Sun: 7-6(13th inning) Dodgers

Top Players:
Everth Cabrera- 5 for 11, 5 RBI
Amazing series for Cabrera against the dodgers this July 4th weekend.Clutch hits and great defensive plays when the padres needed. Saturday was his best game of his rookie season played saving 2 runs defensively and came up big with his 2 RBI hit in the bottom of the 7th when down by 1 point. Great rule-5 pick by the Padres it was a steal. Its amazing that he's never played above single-A ball before being a MLB starting Shortstop.
Random Stat- He had 73 steals in Single-A in 07
Randy Wolf- 6.0 IP, 1 ER, 4 Hits, 8 K
Even though the Dodgers lost the game he pitched Wolf had a great game only allowing 1 earned run and 4 hits.

Overall Thougths: The Dodgers offense played well hitting 4 HR and 36 hits in 3 games. Pitching was good until they got to the bullpen. The bullpen was good on friday not surrendering a hit for 4 innings. Troncoso & Belisario lost it for the Dodgers in the 7th & 8th inning allowing 6 runs on saturday. On sunday Broxton blew a save and lost the lead in the bottom of the 9th allowing 3 runs. Broxton completly lost his control giving up 3 walks. The Padres offense heated up this weekend scoring 16 runs. Eckstein has been great having
.398 AVG with runners in scoring position, Eckstein could be great for any team needing a lead off hitter and is in the playoff race. Eckstein,Gwynn, and Gonzalez are a great combo but are lacking consistent players all around.
